Is the High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN8 a good fit for a stock-power GR86 or BRZ?

Yes. Verus Engineering designed the High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN8 around the limited horsepower these cars make in stock form, keeping drag low so corner speeds climb without a large loss of straight-line speed or street fuel economy. It is rated to generate and withstand more than 300 lb.

How does the High-Efficiency wing compare with the UCW wings?

The High-Efficiency wing is rated beyond 300 lb, adjusts from 0 to 12 degrees and belongs to the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 kit. The UCW wings, in bottom mount and swan neck forms, are rated beyond 500 lb, adjust from 0 to 15 degrees and anchor Ventus 3 for a significant front aero package.

Does the High-Efficiency wing use a swan neck mount?

Yes. Verus Engineering hangs the element from swan neck uprights so the wing is fed clean airflow, which the company says keeps efficiency higher than a typical bottom-mount design. Uprights and trunk mounts are 6061-T6 aluminum machined on 5-axis CNC equipment, with two machined trunk bottom supports.

What front aero should I run with this wing?

Verus Engineering sized the wing to balance most off-the-shelf front aero and names its own front splitter as the match, forming the Ventus 2 package. The GR86 and BRZ need different splitters because their bumpers differ, so order the one for your car and fine-tune with the 0 to 12 degree range.

How was the wing developed and tested?

Verus Engineering created the airfoil in-house with the ANSYS adjoint solver, raised its lift-to-drag ratio through CFD shape optimization and refined it in the wind tunnel. Track testing followed, and Verus reports close correlation between its CFD predictions and real-world data, with the wing meeting its simulation goals.

Description

Verus Engineering High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN8 Toyota GR86 and ZD8 Subaru BRZ

Verus Engineering’s High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN8 Toyota GR86 and ZD8 Subaru BRZ is matched to the modest stock output of these cars, adding real rear downforce for little drag so corner speeds rise without a large hit to top speed or fuel economy. Verus drew its own airfoil from a clean sheet with the ANSYS adjoint solver and rates the wing past 300 lb. For a track-day car running a front splitter it is the right size; the UCW wings suit far heavier front aero.

Design and Performance

Swan neck uprights feed the element clean airflow, keeping efficiency above a typical bottom-mount wing, and the angle adjusts from 0 to 12 degrees. The 2×2 twill pre-preg carbon element, autoclave cured, sits on 6061-T6 mounts machined in-house on 5-axis CNC machines, and Verus reports close agreement between CFD and track testing.

About Verus Engineering

Verus Engineering designs aerodynamic and performance parts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two engineers founded it in late 2014 as Velox Motorsports and renamed it in 2017 after a trademark dispute; verus is Latin for true or complete. Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
