Nitron elec-TRON R3 Coilover Kit for Ford GT (2005-2006)

The Nitron Ford GT elec-TRON R3 kit combines Nitron’s proportional solenoid valve with independent manual compression adjustment, so the DCU handles the active side of damping while high and low speed compression can still be set by hand. Hose-mounted reservoirs run front and rear, with mounting brackets included so there’s nothing extra to source for the install. Because the 2005-2006 Ford GT never came with a factory electronic damping system, the DCU is included as part of this kit rather than sold separately, and it manages the solenoid valves independently of anything the car shipped with from the factory. Adjustable top mounts and race springs come standard, and the whole setup is aimed at a Ford GT owner who wants to extract everything the platform has, on the street or on track, without leaving anything on the table.

Each shock in the elec-TRON R3 carries its own proprietary proportional solenoid valve, and on the Ford GT that valve is managed entirely by Nitron’s own DCU rather than a factory electronic damping system, since the car was never built with one. The system tracks g-load, vehicle speed, road surface, and driver input at once, adjusting damping every six milliseconds, well ahead of the 100 to 150 milliseconds it takes a human eye to blink. elec-TRON DCU (Damper Control Unit)

The DCU is what separates a passive damper from a semi-active one. It tracks the forces acting on the car under braking, cornering, and acceleration, and uses that data to reposition each elec-TRON valve roughly every 5 milliseconds rather than leaving damping fixed at one setting. A control knob on the unit switches between Rain, Tour, Sport, and Race maps, so the driver still decides the overall character of the suspension while the continuous fine adjustment happens automatically underneath.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
