Will it work with the factory airbox?

No. The Eventuri Turbo Tube for FL5 cars is designed exclusively for use with an Eventuri air intake, so the factory airbox and other aftermarket intakes are not compatible. The matte carbon Eventuri intake from the same collaboration is sold separately and pairs directly with this tube.

What does the larger inner diameter do?

Going from the stock 63mm to 88mm widens the passage the turbocharger draws through, which the manufacturer says improves intake efficiency substantially. Paired with the Eventuri intake, it completes a less restrictive route from the filter to the compressor of the K20C1 turbo engine.

How much power does the Eventuri Turbo Tube for FL5 add?

The manufacturer quotes an increase of up to about 15 PS and notes that the result varies with the car specification and the environment. It does not publish the test setup, so treat the number as a ceiling rather than a promise, especially on a car that already has other intake or tuning changes.

Why does the silicone hose at the turbo matter?

The turbocharger runs hot, and heat conducted through the joint warms the incoming air. A highly heat-resistant silicone hose at the connection suppresses that heat conduction, helping keep intake air temperature down, which the manufacturer links to better charging efficiency and resistance to knock.

Is the carbon tube lighter than the factory part?

Yes. The manufacturer describes a significant weight reduction compared with the stock tube thanks to the carbon construction, though it does not publish a weight. The matte black finish is exclusive to the manufacturer and matches the matte carbon Eventuri intake from the same collaboration.

Description

J’s Racing Eventuri Turbo Tube for FL5 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Eventuri Turbo Tube for FL5 Civic Type R cars is the second collaboration piece between the two companies, a carbon inlet tube for the turbocharger in the Osaka tuner’s own matte black finish. Its inner diameter grows from the stock 63mm to 88mm, opening the path into the turbo, and a highly heat-resistant silicone hose at the turbo joint limits heat transfer so intake air stays cooler. The carbon structure is also much lighter than the factory part. It only works with an Eventuri intake, so it suits FL5 owners completing that system rather than anyone keeping the stock airbox.

Design and Performance

J’s Racing explains why the tube matters. Intake air temperature affects charging efficiency and knock, so it has to be kept in check. The turbo compresses and heats the air before the intercooler cools it, and the cooler the air arriving at the turbo, the more effective the intercooler can be. The company quotes an output gain of up to about 15 PS, varying with specification and conditions.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
