Is this the same as the standard Eventuri FL5 intake?

It shares the Eventuri FL5 design but is not the standard product. The Eventuri Carbon Intake for FL5 cars is finished in a matte black carbon specification that only the manufacturer offers, as the first official Eventuri collaboration, and it is sold only through its own official channels.

How much power does the Eventuri Carbon Intake for FL5 add?

The manufacturer reports roughly 15 hp and roughly 2.5 kgf-m of torque, about 18 lb-ft, from the intake change alone. Those are its own test results, with the vehicle and conditions not published, so treat them as a guide. Your gain will depend on fuel, tuning, weather and the rest of the car.

Why is the filter enclosed in a box?

On the FL5 the intake inlet sits directly behind the radiator, so an exposed filter would breathe hot air and lose power. The carbon airbox insulates the filter from engine heat, and the factory seal closes the gap to the hood so engine heat is kept away from the incoming air.

Are installation instructions included?

Yes. Instructions are supplied, but they are written in Japanese only. If you are not comfortable working from them, a shop familiar with the FL5 Civic Type R can carry out the swap, which removes the factory bellows pipe and fits the Venturi tube directly to the filter.

Does the turbo tube come with the intake?

No. The matching carbon turbo tube from the same collaboration is a separate product. It enlarges the path from the intake to the turbocharger and is designed only for use with the Eventuri intake, so it can be added at the same time or later.

Description

J’s Racing Eventuri Carbon Intake for FL5 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Eventuri Carbon Intake for FL5 Civic Type R owners is the first official collaboration product Eventuri has ever released: the Eventuri FL5 intake, finished in a matte black carbon specification unique to the Osaka tuner and sold only through J’s Racing channels. The filter sits in a carbon airbox with strong heat-insulating properties, sealed against the hood with the factory seal, which matters because the FL5 inlet sits right behind the radiator. It suits an FL5 owner who wants measured intake gains in a finish other Eventuri kits do not offer; on a car that only sees gentle commuting, most of the gain will go unused.

Design and Performance

The factory bellows pipe is removed and a tube shaped to use the Venturi effect bolts directly to a high-efficiency filter, so more air reaches the turbocharger and boost builds more quickly. J’s Racing measured roughly 15 hp and roughly 2.5 kgf-m, about 18 lb-ft, from swapping the intake alone, and says the VTEC turbo engine feels stronger on the street as well as the circuit.

Features

Matte black carbon finish exclusive to J’s Racing
Enclosed carbon airbox with heat-insulating properties
Factory hood seal reused to keep engine bay heat away from the filter
Venturi-effect tube mounted straight to a high-efficiency filter
Limited edition, the first official Eventuri collaboration

Applications

Honda Civic Type R: FL5 | 2023-present | 2.0L K20C1 turbo

Notes

The roughly 15 hp and 2.5 kgf-m figures are J’s Racing’s own results with the intake as the only change; the test vehicle and conditions are not published
Installation instructions are supplied in Japanese
The J’s Racing Eventuri Turbo Tube for the FL5 Civic Type R is designed to work with this intake and is sold separately
J’s Racing USA brings each kit in from Japan, and Bulletproof Automotive confirms availability and lead time after checkout

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
