ADRO Carbon Side Skirts for Gen 1 and Gen 2 Toyota GR Yaris

Toyota GAZOO Racing did not build the GR Yaris to be ordinary, and ADRO did not treat it as ordinary either. The full carbon body kit was developed with CFD to work with the homologation car’s existing aerodynamic platform, and ADRO reports approximately 165 lbs (+734N) of additional downforce for the complete kit at minimal drag cost. The ADRO GR Yaris Carbon Side Skirts are the part that makes the rest of it work as a system rather than a set of separate purchases. Seamlessly bridging the front and rear, they manage airflow along the car’s flanks to reduce turbulence, which is what keeps the diffuser fed with air that is still organised by the time it reaches the back of the car. They are also one of only two parts in the range that fit both generations.

Why the Middle of the Car Matters

A front lip and a rear diffuser can each be excellent and still underdeliver together if the air between them is allowed to tumble. Side skirts work by keeping flow attached along the rocker and discouraging higher-pressure air from spilling underneath the car from the sides, which protects the low-pressure region the diffuser depends on. On a car with the GR Yaris’s short wheelbase there is very little distance in which to recover disorganised air, so the skirts do proportionally more work here than they would on a longer platform.

ADRO GR Yaris Carbon Side Skirts Construction and Fitting

The skirts are hand laid wet carbon fiber, shaped to follow the GR Yaris’s factory rocker line so they install without modification. They mount with the supplied 3M tape and screws, giving a bond that is both adhesive and mechanically located. As with any tape-assisted part, degrease the rocker properly and fit somewhere warm, since a rocker-level panel collects road film quickly and the surface has to be genuinely clean before the tape goes on.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
