ADRO Carbon Front Lip for Gen 1 Toyota GR Yaris

Toyota GAZOO Racing did not build the GR Yaris to be ordinary, and ADRO did not treat it as ordinary either. The full carbon body kit was developed with CFD to work with the homologation car’s existing aerodynamic platform, and ADRO reports approximately 165 lbs (+734N) of additional downforce for the complete kit at minimal drag cost. The ADRO GR Yaris Gen 1 Front Lip is where that package starts, extending the factory bumper’s lower edge forward and down to work the air before it reaches the rest of the car. It is handcrafted from carbon fiber and shaped to the GR Yaris’s exact factory lines, so the aggression comes from a lower, sharper leading edge rather than from a shape bolted across the car’s own design.

Working the Air First

The front lip has more leverage over a car’s aerodynamic balance than any other single part, because it decides what the air does before it meets the floor, the skirts and the diffuser. On a car as short as the GR Yaris that matters twice over: there is very little length in which to recover badly organised airflow. Every contour on this lip is placed to channel air where it is useful, which is why ADRO quotes the kit’s downforce figure as a system rather than as a sum of separate parts.

ADRO GR Yaris Gen 1 Front Lip Construction and Fitting

The lip is wet carbon fiber, hand laid and shaped to follow the factory bumper without modification. It mounts with the supplied 3M tape and screws, so the bond wants a properly degreased surface and a warm environment to cure in. Being the lowest part on the car, it is also the one most likely to meet a kerb, and the screws are what keep it located if the tape is ever compromised.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
