ADRO Carbon Front Lip for Gen 2 Toyota GR Yaris

Toyota GAZOO Racing did not build the GR Yaris to be ordinary, and ADRO did not treat it as ordinary either. The full carbon body kit was developed with CFD to work with the homologation car’s existing aerodynamic platform, and ADRO reports approximately 165 lbs (+734N) of additional downforce for the complete kit at minimal drag cost. The ADRO GR Yaris Gen 2 Front Lip is the version cut for the revised front bumper Toyota introduced on the 2024 car. It does the same job as the Gen 1 lip, extending the bumper’s lower edge forward and down so the air is organised before it reaches the floor and the rear of the car, but the mounting geometry and the profile that meets the fascia are specific to the later bumper and the two do not interchange.

Working the Air First

The front lip has more influence over a car’s aerodynamic balance than any other single part, because it decides what the air is doing before it meets everything downstream. On a car with the GR Yaris’s short wheelbase that leverage is amplified: there is very little length in which to recover flow that has been allowed to tumble at the nose. Every contour is placed to channel air where it earns something, which is why ADRO publishes the kit’s downforce figure as a system rather than part by part.

ADRO GR Yaris Gen 2 Front Lip Construction and Fitting

The lip is hand laid wet carbon fiber, shaped to the Gen 2 bumper so it fits without modification, and it mounts with the supplied 3M tape and screws. Being the lowest component on the car it is also the one most likely to find a kerb, and the screws are what keep it located if the adhesive is ever compromised. Degrease the bonding surface properly and fit somewhere warm.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
