Do I need the EDC cancellation kit with these coilovers?

Only on cars with factory electronic dampers, such as Adaptive M Suspension. Öhlins specifies its cancellation kit on those cars to prevent error messages once the factory dampers are removed, which for the G2X is part 35020-30. Cars on passive dampers do not need it.

Which cars do the Coilovers for G2X BMW 3 Series and 4 Series fit?

Öhlins lists kit BMS MU00S1 for the G20 and G21 3 Series from 2019 and the G22, G23 and G26 4 Series from 2020, in rear-drive and xDrive form, so the Coilovers for G2X BMW sedans, Tourings, coupes and Gran Coupes share one part number. The G80 M3 and G82 M4 use a different kit.

Does the 330e need anything extra?

Yes. Öhlins specifies heavier rear springs for hybrid models, part 47010-55 at 160 N/mm in place of the standard 140 N/mm rears, sold separately. The mounting instructions also give hybrids a higher rear spring seat setting, 75 to 80 mm against 45 to 70 mm, so the installer needs to know the car is a hybrid.

Does the kit fit xDrive cars?

Yes. The same struts, shocks and springs fit rear-drive and xDrive G2X cars. The Öhlins mounting instructions give a different front height adjuster setting for G-series xDrive cars, 118 mm against 138 mm for rear-drive, so the installer sets ride height to suit the drivetrain.

What damping setting should I use?

Öhlins suggests 10 to 20 clicks for street driving, 5 to 10 for winding roads and 0 to 7 for track use. Each click changes compression and rebound together through the DFV valve, so one turn of the gold knob at each corner is all it takes to swap between road and circuit settings.

Description

Öhlins DFV Road & Track Coilovers for G2X BMW 3 Series and 4 Series

Öhlins’ DFV Road & Track Coilovers for G2X BMW 3 Series and 4 Series replace all four dampers and springs on the G20 sedan, G21 Touring and the G22, G23 and G26 4 Series with Öhlins kit BMS MU00S1, rear-drive and xDrive alike. A gold knob on each damper switches between street and track settings in seconds, and on Öhlins’ recommended settings the car sits 20 to 30 mm lower than stock. It suits the owner of a 330i, M340i or M440i who drives to the circuit and home again; a dedicated race car wants a fully adjustable damper.

Design and Performance

The Dual Flow Valve lets one adjuster shift low and high speed compression and rebound together, so road and track settings are a knob turn apart rather than a session of separate changes. Separate damper length and preload adjusters set ride height at each corner.

Notes

Cars with factory electronic dampers also need the Öhlins EDC Cancellation Kit
The 330e and other plug-in hybrid models need the heavier Öhlins 47010-55 rear springs (160 N/mm), sold separately
Not for the G80 M3 or G82 / G83 M4, which use a different Öhlins kit
Öhlins sells the same kit for the F3X BMW 3 Series and 4 Series and the F2X BMW 2 Series, listed separately
Professional installation and a four-wheel alignment are recommended when fitting the Coilovers for G2X BMW models

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
