How much weight does the Boost Logic Titanium Exhaust for G80 / G82 save?

Boost Logic weighs the Titanium Exhaust for G80 / G82 at 35 lb, compared to 86 lb for the factory exhaust on the M3 and M4. That is a saving of 51 lb, and it comes from the titanium construction Boost Logic uses across its Formula Series exhausts.

Will the exhaust drone on the highway?

No, according to Boost Logic. The system keeps the OEM electronically controlled valves, and when they are closed they create Helmholtz resonance chambers tuned to keep drone out at cruise and idle. The car stays mild in normal driving, and the valves open for the full titanium sound at wide open throttle.

What tip finishes are available?

Four tip finishes are offered at the same price: blue titanium, purple titanium, polished titanium and brushed titanium. The system uses quad tips, and the finish is chosen at checkout. The tip finish is cosmetic and does not change the sound or the weight of the system.

Does the exhaust fit the M2 or the M3 Touring?

No. Boost Logic lists this Formula Series system for the G80 M3 sedan and the G82 M4 with the S58 inline-six. The G87 M2 and the G81 M3 Touring are not listed, so owners of those cars should contact Bulletproof Automotive rather than assume the system carries over.

What is the exhaust made from?

The system is made from high-grade titanium, which is why it weighs 35 lb against the 86 lb factory exhaust. Boost Logic cites the durability and longevity of the material as well as the weight, and it uses titanium across its Formula Series exhausts for high-performance cars, including this system for the S58 M3 and M4.

Description

Boost Logic Formula Series Titanium Exhaust for G80 / G82 BMW M3 / M4

Boost Logic’s Titanium Exhaust for G80 / G82 BMW M3 / M4 is a Formula Series titanium system that Boost Logic weighs at 35 lb, against 86 lb for the factory exhaust, a 51 lb saving. It keeps the OEM electronically controlled valves, and when they close they form Helmholtz resonance chambers, so the car idles and cruises without drone and with a mild titanium pitch. At wide open throttle the character changes completely, into the sharp, exotic scream Boost Logic frequency-tuned the system to make. It suits an owner who drives the M3 or M4 every day and still wants a far more aggressive S58 on demand.

Sound and Valve Design

Boost Logic built the system around precise frequency tuning rather than simple tube routing. With the OEM valves closed, the Helmholtz chambers keep drone out of idle and cruise; with them open at wide open throttle, the exhaust delivers the high titanium pitch Boost Logic describes as unlike any other BMW engine.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
