Are the aluminum net and inner protector included?

No. The Type-V Vented Hood for CL7 cars ships with the fittings and bolts for the factory hood catch only. The aluminum net, the inner protector and any clear coating are separate purchases, so add them to the order if you want the duct screened.

Which Type-V Vented Hood for CL7 material should I choose?

Pick the Type-V Vented Hood for CL7 in Full Carbon if weight matters most, at about 7.5kg. Carbon and FRP gives the carbon look on top at about 9.0kg. FRP weighs the same, arrives in black gelcoat and suits a hood painted to match.

Does the FRP hood need paint?

Yes. The FRP version is finished in black gelcoat on both faces, a base for paint rather than a final finish, and paint is not included. The two carbon versions show the plain-weave carbon on top, with clear coating available separately.

Will the hood fit an Acura TSX?

Not confirmed. The Japanese catalogue lists the CL7 Euro R along with early Japanese-market CL9 Accord sedans and CM2 wagons, but it does not name the Acura TSX. Bulletproof Automotive asks the US distributor to confirm fitment before ordering for a TSX owner.

How much does the hood lower engine temperatures?

The manufacturer reports that the V-shaped duct is very effective at lowering coolant, oil and intake air temperatures, but it publishes no figures for this car. Expect the size of the drop to depend on climate, engine condition and how hard the Euro R is driven.

Description

J’s Racing Type-V Vented Hood for CL7 Honda Accord Euro R

J’s Racing’s Type-V Vented Hood for CL7 Accord Euro R owners puts a dedicated V-shaped duct over the K20A, and the Osaka tuner credits it with clearly lower coolant, oil and intake air temperatures because heat leaves the engine bay instead of soaking under the hood. The Full Carbon hood weighs about 7.5kg and the other two builds about 9.0kg. It suits a Euro R that sees hard summer driving or circuit sessions; a car used for gentle commuting will gain more from the look than from the cooling.

Construction

On the carbon versions, craftsmen lay the plain-weave cloth by hand with no visible join across the main surface. All three builds work with the factory hood catch, with fittings and bolts supplied, and J’s Racing rates their strength as equal to the factory panel.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
