Does the Fix-Type Damper Kit for FK7 fit the sedan too?

Yes. Spoon built the Fix-Type Damper Kit for FK7 in the factory shape shared by the FK7 hatchback and the FC1 sedan, both with the 1.5 liter turbo engine. Spoon lists manual and CVT hatchbacks and the CVT sedan, and Go Tuning sells it for US cars through 2021.

Which factory parts do I need to keep?

The dust boots, upper mounts and spring seats come off the factory dampers and go onto the Spoon units, so keep them in good condition. Spoon supplies its own dedicated bump rubbers with the kit, so those do not need to be transferred.

How much firmer is it than stock?

Spoon quotes damping force 30 percent higher than the factory dampers. Because the early part of the stroke is closely controlled, the car stays comfortable over small bumps while body movement is held more firmly through fast corners and at highway speed.

Do I need the Spoon progressive springs?

No, but Spoon recommends them. The dampers work with the factory springs, and Spoon developed the kit as a pair with its progressive springs to reach the balance it wanted between street and winding road driving. Springs are sold separately.

Is the kit meant for track use?

It is aimed mainly at the street and winding roads, with mini circuit days within its range. Spoon developed it to fix the lack of control the stock suspension shows on grippy tires. Owners chasing lap times on a large circuit should consider an adjustable coilover.

Description

Spoon Sports Fix-Type Damper Kit for FK7 / FC1 Honda Civic

The Spoon Sports Fix-Type Damper Kit for FK7 Civic hatchback and FC1 sedan was built to make drivers smile, which is how Spoon describes the goal of every product it develops. The tenth-generation Civic rides well from the factory thanks to a stiff body, but on winding roads or a small circuit, and especially on grippier tires, its stock suspension runs short of control. Spoon developed these fixed dampers alongside its progressive springs as a pair aimed at the best balance between street and mountain road. The key is close control of the first part of the damper stroke, which keeps the car comfortable around town while raising stability at speed. Damping force is 30 percent higher than stock, the dampers keep the factory shape for hatchback and sedan, and dedicated bump rubbers come with the kit. It suits an owner who wants a more engaging 1.5T Civic without coilovers.

Design and Development

Spoon aimed for a ride neither too hard nor too soft, with strong road following and stability under high load and high speed. The fixed dampers work with factory springs, but Spoon recommends its progressive springs as the matched pair for the balance it developed between street and winding road.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
