Do I need hood pins with it?

No. The Type-V Aero Hood bolts to the factory latch and hinges, and J's Racing proved its strength at speeds above 220 km/h without a bonnet pin. The mounting hardware comes pre-installed on the hood.

J’s Racing Type-V Aero Hood for FK8 Honda Civic Type R

The J’s Racing Type-V Aero Hood for the FK8 Honda Civic Type R was engineered around one problem: heat. A widened intake channel feeds the engine more effectively, while V-shaped ducts and main ducts flanking the K20C engine and turbine create negative pressure that pulls hot air out of the bay. J’s Racing validated the design at Suzuka International Racing Course, where the hood cut maximum intake air temperature by 15C and average temperature by 10C against the factory hood.

Development and Testing

The roughly 150cm2 of total duct area does more than dump heat; it lowers water temperature, oil temperature, and intake air temperature together, letting the K20C perform to its full potential lap after lap. Strength testing proved the hood stable at speeds above 220 km/h even without a bonnet pin, and it bolts to the factory hinges and latch with no pin installation required.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
