J’s Racing’s Torque Damper Set for EP3 Civic Type R combines an engine torque damper with a tower bar made specifically to go with it. By restraining how much the engine moves, the damper reduces power lost on the way to the front wheels, and the Osaka tuner says it also softens the punishment the transmission takes. The set is listed for both the 2002 and 2004 models of the JDM EP3. It makes the most sense on an EP3 driven hard, where the engine works its mounts the most; a gently driven car will feel less difference.

Design and Performance

Under load, an engine moves on its mounts, and some of that motion is drive that never reaches the tires.
