Is the kit painted, and is fitting needed?

No, it is not painted, and fitting is needed. The kit is supplied unpainted and must be painted, and the manufacturer states that fitting work on the car is required. Have the body shop test fit every piece first, then paint. The car in the product photos has been painted and given graphics.

What parts come in the Type-S Aero Kit for ZF1 cars?

The Type-S Aero Kit for ZF1 cars contains four parts: a front wing spoiler, a front intake grille, side skirts and a rear diffuser. The GT wing and aero hood are not included, although the manufacturer offers them as separate products for the CR-Z.

Can I buy the pieces one at a time?

Yes. The front spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser are each listed on their own, so you can start with one area and add to it later. Buying the full kit gets all four parts, including the front intake grille, in a single order from the same production run.

Is it designed only for the track?

No. The manufacturer designed the TYPE-S system for street use while developing it with aerodynamic data from motorsport. The goal is more downforce and less drag with attention to cooling, so the kit serves a road car that also sees track days as well as a dedicated circuit car.

Which CR-Z models does it fit?

The kit is listed for the ZF1 CR-Z with the 1.5L LEA hybrid engine, covering 2010 to 2016 production. As with most FRP body parts, fitting work is required, so plan for a body shop to align each piece to the car before paint.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Aero Kit for ZF1 Honda CR-Z

J’s Racing’s Type-S Aero Kit for ZF1 CR-Z owners is the FRP version of the TYPE-S Total Aero System, a four-piece package built on the idea that aero should work as a tuning part rather than as dress-up. J’s Racing points out that many body kits lack strength or add drag in sports driving. Its answer draws on aerodynamic data from motorsport to raise downforce, cut drag and look after cooling around the car. The kit brings a front wing spoiler, front intake grille, side skirts and rear diffuser. It fits an owner planning a full exterior change with paint; if you only want one area, the main pieces are listed separately.

Development and Testing

J’s Racing developed the TYPE-S system with aerodynamic data gathered in its motorsport programs and designed it for street use as well. The parts are unpainted FRP and need fitting to the car before paint, so plan on a body shop for both jobs.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
