Does it fit a CR-Z without fog lights?

Yes. The spoiler is designed for cars with the factory bumper and factory fog lights, and on a CR-Z without fog lights the manufacturer says the openings can be used as ducts instead. It is not designed for aftermarket front bumpers, so check your bumper before ordering.

Is the Type-S Front Spoiler for ZF1 cars painted?

No. The Type-S Front Spoiler for ZF1 cars ships in a black gelcoat finish and is not painted; the product photos show a painted example. Plan for a body shop to fit it to your bumper and paint it, since fitting work on the car is needed before installation.

How does it create downforce?

Its half-spoiler shape sits low and extends forward, so it catches the oncoming air and creates a force that pushes the front of the body down. The manufacturer describes the result as added stability when driving. No downforce figures are published, so the effect is described here only qualitatively.

Does it affect engine cooling?

It is designed to direct airflow actively toward the grille, which the manufacturer says brings more air into the radiator. That makes it a functional piece for a CR-Z driven hard in warm weather, not just a styling addition. Temperature results are not published.

Can I buy it as part of a kit?

Yes. It is one of four pieces in the TYPE-S total aero kit for the CR-Z, alongside the front intake grille, side skirts and rear diffuser. Buying it alone suits owners who want to change the front first and add the other pieces later.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Front Spoiler for ZF1 Honda CR-Z

J’s Racing’s Type-S Front Spoiler for ZF1 CR-Z owners is the Front Wing Spoiler from the TYPE-S aero line, shaped around the factory bumper to add downforce at the nose. It uses a half-spoiler form that sits low and reaches forward, catching oncoming air and pressing the body down, while also steering airflow into the grille so more air reaches the radiator. Its lines follow the grille and fog lights and give the CR-Z a lower, sportier stance. It is meant for cars with the factory bumper and factory fog lights; owners running an aftermarket bumper should look elsewhere.

Tips

The spoiler arrives in black gelcoat and needs fitting to the car before final installation, so let the body shop test fit it first. If your CR-Z has no fog lights, the openings meant for them can serve as ducts instead. The spoiler in J’s Racing’s photos has been painted, which is why it looks different from the finish you receive.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
