Will the 2.7L Accessport V3 for P552 fit a 2017 F-150 2.7L?

No. COBB confirms this part number for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost, all USDM trucks. The 2017 model year is not on the application list, and the 3.5L engine is covered by other COBB part numbers, so confirm engine and year before ordering.

Does it change how the transmission shifts?

Yes. Every 2.7L EcoBoost F-150 uses one combined module for engine and transmission control, so a flash covers both. Simulated Stock, COBB OEM+ and COBB Sport calibrations alter shift points, shift firmness, skip-shift behavior and torque limits for a refined or more aggressive feel.

Is the Accessport legal in all 50 states?

Yes. COBB holds CARB Executive Order D-660-59 for this application, making the 2.7L Accessport V3 for P552 trucks legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in every state, California included, when used as described in the COBB application guide.

Which octane should I use?

Pick the map matching the lowest grade you expect to buy, since COBB writes Stage 1, Stage 2 and Performance Tow maps for 91 and 93 octane. On 91 octane COBB quotes Stage 1 peak gains of 9.10 percent horsepower and 14.93 percent torque, close to the 93 octane figures.

How hard is installation?

Installation is simple. Everything required comes in the box, and on-screen instructions identify the exact truck and the maps available for it before flashing. When you want the factory calibration back, the Uninstall option on the main menu restores the module to exactly how it was before installation.

Description

COBB Tuning 2.7L Accessport V3 for P552 Ford F-150

COBB Tuning’s 2.7L Accessport V3 for P552 trucks covers the 2018, 2019 and 2020 F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, and because each of those trucks runs a combined engine and transmission module, power and shift behavior are retuned in the same flash. It holds CARB EO D-660-59, so it can go on a registered truck in any state. On 93 octane COBB quotes Stage 1 peak gains of 10.09 percent horsepower and 15.01 percent torque, a torque-heavy change that suits a half-ton used for commuting and light hauling. The 2017 2.7L is not on the COBB application list.

Engine and Transmission Maps

Off The Shelf files include Stage 1 and Stage 2 for 91 or 93 octane, and Performance Tow maps on both grades. The 2.7L Accessport V3 for P552 pairs each engine map with a transmission calibration: Simulated Stock for factory behavior, COBB OEM+ for moderately higher shift points with skip-shifting kept in Normal mode, and COBB Sport, which removes Normal mode skip-shifting except for light-throttle 1-3 shifts. Both COBB files firm up shifts under load and raise transmission torque limits.

Custom Features

COBB names Auto Start-Stop disabling, Dynamic Pedal Control, fuel pump activation from the Accessport, F-150 tire size adjustment and Valet Mode as custom ECU features on this platform.

Large full color screen monitors up to six parameters in real time

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
