Thanks to AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology, the Touring Edition confines all the commotion to the rear of the vehicle and eliminates drone-prone frequencies that would otherwise resonate within the cabin at highway speeds – all perfectly packaged to fit the Integra. The Touring Edition, and the 180 Technology within it, were both developed for use with and without an aftermarket catted downpipe.

By controlling the size and location of the ports and chambers, AWE Tuning controls when the sound waves exit the chambers. What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology operates in the following manner: As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into a resonator equipped with AWE’s 180 Technology, they pass through strategically located ports and into reflection chambers. Sound waves carried by these exhaust gases bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE’s acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and chambers. By controlling these key elements, AWE Tuning can manage when the sound waves exit the chambers. Front Pipes

• The exhaust system features a full 3” front pipe with a unique flange and gasket, ensuring a consistent diameter from inlet to outlet. This integrated front pipe is compatible with both aftermarket and factory downpipes.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE has made it simple to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired later.
