Nitron RacePro 3 Coilover Kit for S2 Lotus Exige

The S2 Exige is one of the most common cars in Lotus club racing and one-make series, and many road cars have since been stripped, caged and put on slicks. Once an S2 gets to that point, a single-adjuster damper can’t keep up. The Nitron Exige RacePro 3 kit is Nitron’s full competition package for the car. It adjusts rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression independently at every corner. You can tune how the S2 rotates on entry, how it holds its platform through a fast corner and how it rides over curbs as three separate settings. Changing one of them doesn’t throw the others off. The Nitron Exige RacePro 3 uses a 46mm piston for precise control under slick-tire and aero loads. The dampers run inverted to keep unsprung weight down, and hose-mounted reservoirs at the front and rear keep damping stable from the green flag to the finish. Mounting brackets come with the kit, supplied for your car’s drive side.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

An S2 Exige doesn’t have much room for four reservoir hoses. At the front they have to run around the wishbones, steering rack and radiator ducting under the clamshell. At the rear they share space with the subframe, exhaust and the heat coming off the engine bay. On the Nitron Exige RacePro 3, Nitron’s Bi-Axis fittings let each hose swivel on two axes where it leaves the damper. The hose can be pointed along the cleanest path from the start, without sharp bends or rubbing against moving suspension parts through full travel and lock. That also gives you more options for placing the reservoirs, so the adjusters can sit where your crew can reach them quickly between sessions.

Unique Technology

Nitron builds the Nitron Exige RacePro 3 on the 46mm damper platform it uses in competition, and the hardware comes straight from that program. The work is split across three separate circuits. Rebound controls how fast each corner extends. It sets how weight moves as you trail the brakes into a corner and how settled the rear stays as you pick up the throttle. Low-speed compression controls roll and pitch from driver inputs, which decides how quickly the S2 takes a set and how responsive the front feels mid-corner. High-speed compression handles sharp hits from curbs, ripples and track seams, so the car can use the curbs without being thrown off line. The remote reservoirs give the oil and nitrogen extra volume, which keeps pressure and temperature stable through a long stint. Inverting the dampers moves their mass to the chassis side, so the wheels can follow the track more closely. Friction is very low throughout the Nitron Exige RacePro 3. The damper responds from the first millimeter of travel, and each adjuster click makes a clear change you can repeat at the next event.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
