Does the Reinforced Bushing Kit for EK9 cars need a press?

Yes. The Reinforced Bushing Kit for EK9 cars is supplied as loose bushings, and each one must be pressed into its arm. Plan on a shop with a hydraulic press and the right adapters. If you would rather avoid press work at the front, the lower arms are also offered with bushings pre-installed.

Which arms does the kit cover?

All of them. The 26 pieces cover the front upper arms, front lower arms, front compliance bushings, rear lower arms, rear trailing arms, compensator arms and rear upper arms. That is a complete set for one car, so the whole chassis is refreshed at once.

Will the car ride more harshly?

Yes, a little. The manufacturer notes that slightly more vibration reaches the cabin once the reinforced bushings are installed. In exchange, they deform less under cornering loads, which improves high-speed stability and gives more direct handling and quicker steering response.

Is this kit only for track cars?

No. The manufacturer describes reinforced bushings as an essential item for every stage from street driving to the circuit. They are a sensible choice when the original rubber has aged, because the full set replaces every arm bushing on the car in one job.

Does the kit fit a US-market EK Civic?

No, not on the manufacturer listing. The bushings are sized for the arms of the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R, and other EK models have not been confirmed. Check your car with us before you order, especially if any arms have already been replaced with aftermarket parts.

Description

J’s Racing Reinforced Bushing Kit for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Reinforced Bushing Kit for EK9 Civic Type R chassis is the Arm Reinforcement Bush Complete Set, 26 bushings that cover every arm on one car. Each bushing is harder and more durable than stock, so it deforms less in corners, and J’s Racing credits the set with steadier high-speed tracking, a more direct feel and faster reactions to the wheel. Upper and lower arms at both ends, the front compliance mounts, the rear trailing arms and the compensator arms are all included. The kit suits an owner restoring a tired chassis who has access to a press; anyone wanting a bolt-in job should look at pre-bushed arms instead.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
