Do the Front Lower Arms for EK9 cars need a press to install?

No. The Front Lower Arms for EK9 cars arrive as complete assemblies with the reinforced bushings already pressed in, so they bolt in without any press work. That is the main advantage over buying bushings alone, and it shortens the job considerably when refreshing worn front suspension.

Will the ride become harsher?

Yes, slightly. The manufacturer notes that the harder bushings let a little more vibration reach the cabin. In return they deform less in corners, which reduces alignment changes and gives more direct steering. Whether that trade suits you depends on how hard the car is driven.

Is this a pair or a single arm?

It is a pair. The set covers one car, with a left and a right front lower arm, each with the reinforced bushings installed. You do not need to order two to complete the front end, and both sides are shipped together from Japan.

Do the arms need any maintenance?

Yes. The manufacturer asks owners to check the bolts and nuts for tightness at regular intervals after installation, and before every circuit session in particular. That check takes only a few minutes and keeps the suspension secure under repeated hard loads on track.

Do these arms fit a US-market EK Civic?

No, the fit there has not been confirmed. The arms are built for the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R with the B16B engine, which is the only listed application. Ask us to check your exact car and front suspension before ordering, and we will query the US distributor if needed.

Description

J’s Racing Front Lower Arms for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Front Lower Arms for EK9 Civic Type R owners are complete arm assemblies with J’s Racing reinforced bushings already pressed in. The harder, more durable bushing deforms less under cornering loads, so the alignment moves less as the car leans on the front tires. J’s Racing credits that with better straight-line stability at high speed, more direct handling and quicker steering response. Because the bushings arrive fitted, there is no press work, which makes the pair an easy way to refresh a tired front end on a car now more than two decades old. Expect slightly more vibration in the cabin in exchange.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
