Will my trunk lid need to be drilled?

Yes. Holes are drilled on the left and right sides of the trunk lid, and the wing is fixed in place with dedicated brackets. Keep in mind that the holes stay in the trunk lid if the wing is ever removed.

Is the 3D GT-Wing 1390mm for AP1 cars the same as the low-mount wing?

No. The 3D GT-Wing 1390mm for AP1 cars is the S-Tai race version with a 195mm wing height and a high-speed focus. The low-mount wing shares the 1390mm span but sits at 100mm and is tuned to make downforce from lower, everyday speeds.

What does S-Tai mean?

S-Tai is the short Japanese name for Super Taikyu, the endurance series where this wing is a designated part. It was used in the 2003 season by several S2000 teams, so the design has been tested over long races rather than only short time attack runs.

Which circuits suit this wing?

The manufacturer designed it for medium and high speed downforce, naming fast tracks such as Suzuka Circuit and Fuji Speedway. On US circuits the same logic points to long straights and quick corners, with the adjustment used to add angle for slower layouts.

Can the angle and height be changed?

Yes. The wing offers 15 positions arranged as five by three across angle and height. That gives room to balance the rear against front aero changes, or to back the wing off for a faster circuit and add angle for a tighter one.

Description

J’s Racing 3D GT-Wing 1390mm for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s 3D GT-Wing 1390mm for AP1 and AP2 S2000s is the S-Tai version of the Type 1 wing, a designated part in the Super Taikyu endurance series and a piece born directly from racing. In the 2003 season it ran on five S2000s, including J’s Racing’s own YH S2000 and cars from ACID Eishinkan, Dunlop, Kumho Ecsta and Mondo Speed. The wet carbon single element is shaped to cut drag while producing downforce at medium and high speed. It fits an owner who wants a proven endurance-racing wing at a narrower span than the 1600mm wing; for road-focused cars the low-mount wing is gentler.

Features

Designated Super Taikyu part, raced by five S2000 teams in 2003
1390mm wet carbon single element with a 195mm wing height
Profile tuned for downforce at medium and high speed with low drag
Five-by-three adjustment grid covering angle and height
Trunk side mounting on dedicated brackets

Applications

Honda S2000: AP1 | 1999-2003 | 2.0L F20C
Honda S2000: AP2 | 2004-2009 | 2.2L F22C

Notes

The left and right sides of the trunk lid must be drilled to mount the brackets
J’s Racing suggests a UV-cut clear coat, sold separately, if the car lives outdoors or will keep the wing for years
Built to order in Japan and supplied through J’s Racing USA; we confirm the lead time with you after ordering

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
