Spoon Sports Brake Hose Set for GE8 Honda Fit
Braided Teflon lines that give the light, eager GE8 Fit a more direct pedal, made for cars with discs at both ends
The Spoon Sports Brake Hose Set for GE8 Fit replaces the rubber brake hoses of the second-generation Fit with low-expansion No. 3 Teflon tube inside a stainless steel mesh cover, finished with high-strength steel fittings. Spoon registers it for the JDM Fit RS from October 2007, the 1.5RS from October 2010 and the RS Highway Edition, with five-speed, six-speed and CVT gearboxes. One detail decides fitment: Spoon states that the rear hoses are made for disc rear brakes, so the set belongs on a GE8 with discs at all four corners. The GE8 is a small, light car, and owners who take it to autocross or short circuits on better pads and tires tend to outgrow the feel of the factory rubber lines. Braided lines answer that cheaply and permanently. Go Tuning sells the set for 2009 to 2014 model years. Pair it with fresh fluid; on a Fit used as a city car, it is a refinement rather than a need.
Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.
