The Nitron Mégane RS R26 NTR-R1 Coilover Kit is for owners of the X84 Mégane RS R26 and R26.R whose original dampers have gone slack after close to two decades. Cars like these are usually kept for the way they drive, and tired dampers take that away first, with a front end that no longer bites cleanly and a twist-beam rear that wanders over bumps instead of holding the car steady. Nitron’s passive NTR-R1 replaces the spring and damper at each corner with a coilover, firmer race springs, and a damper valved to control them, and the rear is specified as a coilover that combines spring and damper in one unit. Adjustable spring perches set the ride height, and adjustable top plates are included in the kit. Think of it as the suspension update that gets the car to feel the way it did when new, with room to firm it up for track days or an R26.R that sees more circuit use than road.

Unique Technology

The NTR-R1 is a passive damper built around a single tube pressurized with nitrogen, with valving derived from Nitron’s motorsport work and sized for the weight and spring rates of the R26 and R26.R. There are no electronics to worry about on a car of this age, just one adjuster at each corner that moves compression and rebound together. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
