The Nitron Mégane RS 265 NTR-R1 Coilover Kit is for the X95 Mégane RS 250 and RS 265 that has outgrown its factory dampers and springs. The RS 250 and RS 265 are quick front-drive cars with strut front suspension and a twist-beam rear, and once the original dampers lose their control, the car starts to float over crests, wallow in fast transitions, and feel vague at the limit where it should feel pointed. Nitron’s passive NTR-R1 replaces the spring and damper at each corner with a coilover, using firmer race springs and a damper built to control them, with adjustable spring perches for ride height and adjustable top plates included. The rear is specified as a coilover, combining the spring and damper into one unit in place of the separate parts the car left the factory with. The result is a Mégane RS that turns in more cleanly, stays flatter through a corner, and settles after a bump, which suits track days, hard road driving, and a car that sees both.

Unique Technology

Each Nitron NTR-R1 damper is a monotube design pressurized with nitrogen gas, which keeps the oil from aerating and holds damping consistent as the dampers heat up over a long session. The valving comes from motorsport work and is tuned to the weight and spring rates of the Mégane RS rather than adapted from a generic hot hatch curve. Compression and rebound are adjusted together through a single 2-way adjustment at each corner, and the reservoir is internal, so there is nothing remote to mount or route.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
