The Nitron Mégane RS R26 NTR-R3 Coilover Kit puts four independent damping adjustments at each corner of the X84 Mégane RS R26 and R26.R, so the car can be tuned for the circuit or road in front of it instead of settling for a compromise. A front-drive car like this asks a lot of its front tires, and how the body is controlled under braking, on turn-in, and when the throttle goes back on decides whether it pushes wide or rotates. Nitron’s passive NTR-R3 gives separate high speed and low speed compression and rebound settings, so slow body movement can be held firmly without making kerbs and sharp edges hit the chassis. Hose-connected reservoirs sit at the front and rear, the rear is specified as a coilover that combines spring and damper in one unit, and adjustable spring perches set the ride height. Race springs and adjustable top plates are included. It is a kit for the R26.R that lives on circuits and the R26 whose owner has started to chase lap times.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

With hoses at all four corners, the direction a fitting faces matters more than most people expect. Nitron’s Bi-Axis fittings swivel through 720 degrees on two axes, so each hose can be aimed where it needs to go and tightened there, instead of being bent around a fixed outlet on a compact Mégane II. The result is hose runs that stay clear of the tires, the springs, and the moving suspension parts, and that avoid the tight bends that hurt flow and invite wear.

Unique Technology

Compression and rebound each get two circuits on the NTR-R3. The low speed circuit governs the slower motion of the body, such as roll in a corner or dive under braking, and the high speed circuit governs the quick spikes from kerbs and sharp edges. That makes four adjustments per damper, set independently of each other. The body is a nitrogen-pressurized monotube, and the valving is built from Nitron’s motorsport work and sized for the weight and spring rates of the R26 and R26.R.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
