Is the High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN6 suitable for a street-driven car?

Yes. Verus Engineering aimed the High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN6 at the track day driver and the street enthusiast alike, and kept drag low so fuel economy and top speed do not suffer substantially. It makes useful rear downforce on track while staying smaller than the UCW wings.

Why does a low-drag wing suit the 86, FR-S and BRZ?

The FA20 engine in these cars makes limited horsepower in stock form, so added drag eats into straight-line speed more than it would on a more powerful car. Verus Engineering designed this wing to raise corner speeds without a large hit to top speed on the straights.

How much downforce does the High-Efficiency wing make?

Verus Engineering rates the wing to generate and withstand more than 300 lb of downforce, a rating that covers the billet aluminum uprights and the reinforced trunk mounts. Actual load rises with speed, and Verus reports close agreement between its CFD predictions and real-world testing of this design.

Can I run the Verus ducktail spoiler with this wing?

Yes. Verus Engineering states that its carbon ducktail rear spoiler works together with the High-Efficiency wing and does not reduce wing performance when both are fitted. The spoiler builds a high-pressure zone on the trunk while the wing adds its own downforce above it, and Verus recommends the pair for a significant gain.

Which front splitter balances the High-Efficiency wing?

Verus Engineering sized the wing to suit most off-the-shelf front aero solutions, so most splitters on the market will balance it. For this chassis Verus makes the Carbon Polyweave Adjustable Front Splitter, which sets 2 to 5 inches out, and two-piece splitters for the 2013-2016 and 2017-2020 bumpers.

Description

Verus Engineering High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN6 Toyota 86, Scion FR-S and ZC6 Subaru BRZ

Verus Engineering’s High-Efficiency Rear Wing Kit for ZN6 Toyota 86, Scion FR-S and ZC6 Subaru BRZ starts from an airfoil Verus drew from a clean sheet with the ANSYS adjoint solver, sized for the track day driver and the street enthusiast. Low drag matters here because the FA20 makes limited power in stock form, so Verus aimed for higher corner speeds with little cost to top speed or fuel economy. Swan neck mounts feed the wing clean airflow, which Verus notes a typical bottom-mount wing does not get. A car with a large splitter can carry the UCW; this is the wing for most others.

Construction

The element is carbon fiber with a carbon Nomex infill, fixed through recessed mounting points that keep hardware out of the airflow. The billet aluminum uprights are rounded at the front and knife-edged at the rear, refined with CFD and FEA for clean flow in a straight line and in yaw. Verus placed the trunk mounts at the strongest point of the lid and reinforced them.

About Verus Engineering

Verus Engineering designs aerodynamic and performance parts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two engineers founded it in late 2014 as Velox Motorsports and renamed it in 2017 after a trademark dispute; verus is Latin for true or complete. Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
