The HKS Hipermax R Coilovers for ZD8 are the HKS all-round track and road kit for the second-generation Subaru BRZ with the FA24 flat-four and rear-wheel drive. Hipermax R builds on the HIPERMAX S damper and adds three parts found only on the R line: SRF damper oil, LVS high-strength springs and an upper spring retainer. HKS tested the kit at Fuji Speedway on ADVAN A052 tires in 235/40R18. That makes it a strong match for a ZD8 that is driven to an autocross or HPDE event and home again; owners building a dedicated race car should look at the HKS GR86/BRZ Cup kit instead.
