HKS’s LEGAMAX Sports Exhaust for ZN8 Toyota GR86 and ZD8 Subaru BRZ is a cat-back system in SUS304 stainless that runs a straight 65mm main pipe into twin 50.8mm pipes and out through RS-style 100mm titanium tips at each corner. HKS tuned it around the Active Sound Control System on the FA24 cars, so the note stays modest at low engine speeds and rises with the revs. The trade-off is fitting, since the rear bumper has to come off and its skirt has to be modified. For the same cars HKS also offers the HKS Hi-Power SPEC-L (32016-BT004) and HKS Hi-Power SPEC-L II (32016-AF101).

Development and Testing

HKS enlarged the pipe diameter over its systems for the earlier 86 and BRZ to suit the more powerful 2.4L FA24, and used a straight layout in the main pipes for exhaust efficiency.
