VF Engineering Performance ECU Software for B9 Audi RS5
The RS5 twin-turbo V6 with a VF-quoted 67 lb-ft more torque, for the Coupe and Sportback alike.
VF Engineering’s Performance ECU Software for B9 Audi RS5 recalibrates the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that replaced the previous RS5’s high-revving V8 in 2018. VF quotes 495 hp and 510 lb-ft with the software installed, gains of 51 hp and 67 lb-ft over the factory 444 hp and 443 lb-ft. The turbocharged V6 gave the RS5 a broad, muscular midrange in place of the old car’s top-end scream, and the calibration builds on exactly that strength, with revised boost, ignition and fueling. It suits RS5 Coupe and Sportback owners who want the car to pull harder at every speed without adding hardware or changing its everyday manners.
VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.
