VF Engineering Competition Package for B9 Audi RS5
The VF track file for the twin-turbo RS5, quoted at 530 hp and 540 lb-ft for both the Coupe and the Sportback.
VF Engineering’s Competition Package for B9 Audi RS5 is the stronger VF file for the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that replaced the earlier RS5’s high-revving V8 in 2018. Audi rated the engine at 444 hp and 443 lb-ft. VF quotes 530 hp and 540 lb-ft with the Competition calibration, gains of 86 hp and 97 lb-ft, a clear 35 hp and 30 lb-ft beyond its Performance software, built on the broad midrange that defines the turbocharged car. VF writes the file for track use, and the RS5, with quattro drive and a rear sport differential on many cars, is well suited to circuit days. It covers the Coupe and the Sportback, and nothing on either car changes visibly.
VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.
