How much power does the VF ECU Software for B9 Audi S4 and S5 add?

VF Engineering quotes 420 hp and 440 lb-ft from its ECU Software for B9 Audi S4, S5 and FY SQ5 models, gains of 71 hp and 71 lb-ft over the factory 349 hp and 369 lb-ft of the 3.0 liter turbocharged V6.

Does the software fit the SQ5?

Yes. VF Engineering lists the FY generation SQ5 with the 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 alongside the B9 S4 and S5 under one calibration. The SQ5 is a taller and heavier vehicle, so its acceleration figures differ even though the engine output is the same.

How is the software installed?

VF Engineering installs the calibration at its Anaheim facility in Southern California or through an authorized VF dealer. Bulletproof Automotive coordinates the appointment with VF after the order is placed, and nothing is added to the car or changed in its appearance.

Does it work with the automatic gearbox?

Yes. The calibration works on the engine and runs with the factory eight-speed automatic used in these models. The gearbox, quattro all-wheel drive and drive modes remain exactly as Audi built them, so the car drives normally at any pace.

Is there a stronger calibration for the S4, S5 and SQ5?

Yes. VF Engineering lists a Competition Package for the same three models, sold as a separate listing on Bulletproof Automotive. Bulletproof Automotive can explain the differences between the two and help choose the right one based on how the car is driven.

Description

VF Engineering Performance ECU Software for B9 Audi S4, S5 and FY SQ5

VF Engineering’s Performance ECU Software for B9 Audi S4, S5 and FY SQ5 covers the three S models that share Audi’s 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 from 2017, the sedan, the coupe and Sportback, and the compact SUV. VF quotes 420 hp and 440 lb-ft with the calibration installed, gains of 71 hp and 71 lb-ft over the factory 349 hp and 369 lb-ft, all from revised boost, ignition and fueling. Those numbers put the S4 and S5 within reach of the factory RS5 on horsepower and leave all three cars far more urgent in the midrange. For an owner who wants an S model that feels a class above without the cost of the RS, this is a well-judged change.

About VF Engineering

VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
