No. Supersprint registers this kit against the E89 Z4 35is with the 340 hp N54 and sDrive only, covering 2010 through 2016. Supersprint does not publish a tuning requirement for this kit. Any change to the pipework ahead of the oxygen sensor can alter what the factory calibration reads, so discuss your combination with your tuner before the car goes back on the road. We are not able to advise on emissions compliance in your state.

Supersprint Downpipe Kit for E89 BMW Z4 35is

Supersprint’s Downpipe Kit for E89 BMW Z4 is the first pipework the exhaust gas meets after the two turbochargers on the 340 hp N54, and it is hand fabricated in Mantova rather than cut from a shelf of universal tube. Mandrel bending at a nominal 1.5mm wall keeps the bore from pinching where the pipes thread past the transmission and subframe, which is the part of any turbo car where a collapsed radius costs the most, and the threaded bung for the oxygen sensor arrives already welded in so nothing has to be opened up on the bench. This is a 35is part and only a 35is part. The 306 hp 35i takes a different piece from the Supersprint range, and the centre and rear of the system are bought separately.

Construction

Supersprint fabricates rather than presses, which matters most at the turbo end, where the pipework clears the block, the steering shaft and the subframe inside a few millimetres. Flanges are CNC machined from stainless plate 7mm to 12mm thick, heavy enough to hold their face against a hot turbine housing instead of dishing and leaking.
