Does the S-Tai Front Bumper for CL7 fit the facelifted Euro R?

No. Spoon registers the S-Tai Front Bumper for CL7 for cars built from October 2002 to October 2005, which spans the LA-CL7 and ABA-CL7 codes, and Go Tuning describes it as a pre-facelift part. A Euro R built after that period has a revised front end and is not covered by this bumper.

Will it fit an Acura TSX?

No. The TSX is a close relative of the Euro R, but it carries the CL9 chassis code and Spoon does not register this bumper for it. The part is listed only for the JDM CL7 Accord Euro R with the K20A engine and 6-speed manual, so a TSX owner should not order it expecting a direct fit.

What material is the bumper made from?

It is FRP, a glass fiber reinforced plastic that Spoon uses across its aero range. Spoon lists this bumper at 14 kg. The surface needs work before paint: Spoon asks for a degrease to remove production wax, then a light sanding with fine wet paper so the primer has something to grip.

Is the bumper suitable for daily driving?

Yes. Go Tuning describes the S-Tai bumper as suitable for road and track use. Like any aftermarket front bumper on a lowered sedan, it deserves care on steep driveways and around parking stops, and as an FRP part finished by hand it must be painted before the car goes back on the road.

Should a body shop fit the bumper?

Yes, that is the best route. Spoon asks for a test fit before painting, warns that paint booth heat or heaters can distort the part, and recommends natural drying below 40 degrees C in cold or humid weather. A shop used to FRP will follow those steps and fill any small pinholes before the color coat goes on.

Description

Spoon Sports S-Tai Front Bumper for CL7 Honda Accord Euro R

The Spoon Sports S-Tai Front Bumper for CL7 Honda Accord Euro R gives the K20A sports sedan a front end in the style of the bodywork Spoon develops for endurance racing. Spoon registers it for the Euro R built from October 2002 to October 2005, a span that covers both the LA-CL7 and the later ABA-CL7 production codes, and Go Tuning, the US distributor for Spoon, describes it as a part for pre-facelift cars only. The bumper is FRP. Go Tuning credits the design with a large weight reduction over the factory part and calls it suitable for road and track use; Spoon lists it at 14 kg but publishes no stock weight, so no exact saving is claimed here. The Euro R was a Japanese market car, and its Acura TSX relative carries a different chassis code. This bumper suits a pre-facelift Euro R that does circuit days and should look the part; an owner of a later facelift car needs a different solution.

About Spoon Sports

Spoon Sports was founded in 1988 in Suginami, Tokyo, by Tatsuru Ichishima, a former Honda race car tester and driver, with backing from Honda and Mugen. The company has raced Hondas from its first season, when Ichishima’s own Civic became the first Civic to enter the Japan Touring Car Championship, and its Type One workshop, opened in 2001, services and tunes the cars its parts are developed on. Spoon builds engine, drivetrain, exhaust, chassis and aero parts for Honda models and proves them on circuits and in endurance racing, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
