The VI is a 280 PS, full-time four-wheel-drive sedan, and after two decades the original springs and dampers are usually the weakest link in how it drives. The Evo VI NTR-R1 swaps them for a passive damper with one combined compression and rebound control at each corner, so a single adjustment changes how the car feels. Spring perches adjust for ride height, race springs are included, and the rear stays with the OEM suspension type.

Unique Technology

Single-adjuster dampers are the easy way to a well-controlled car, and the Evo VI NTR-R1 is built that way on purpose. Each damper is a nitrogen-pressurized monotube with an internal reservoir, so the whole unit sits where the old shock was, with no hoses to run and no canisters to mount. Turn the control and compression and rebound move together. For an Evo that is a daily car on weekdays and a stage car on a Sunday, that makes it quick to go softer for the commute or firmer for a day on the circuit.

The rear keeps the OEM suspension type, so the rear dampers go back in the place the factory ones came out of, and the car’s rear geometry stays as it left the factory. Race springs come in the kit, and the adjustable perches let you set ride height and corner balance without swapping parts. That leaves you spending your time dialing the car in and not working out how to make the kit fit.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
