Nitron NTR-R1 FastRoad Coilover Kit for 121 Lotus Europa S

Lotus built the Europa S as the touring member of the Elise family. It has a longer bonded aluminum chassis, more sound deadening, and factory damping tuned mostly for comfort. Twenty years on, most of those original dampers are worn out. The car floats over crests, takes a while to settle after a mid-corner bump, and feels vague just when the road tightens. The Nitron Europa S NTR-R1 FastRoad kit swaps them for hand-built coilovers that are sprung and valved for quick road driving. The chassis gets the body control it always had in it, and the Europa still rides well enough to work as a GT. On the Nitron Europa S NTR-R1, one adjuster at each corner sets bump and rebound together. Dialing it in for a mountain road, a long highway trip or an occasional track day stays quick, and settings are easy to repeat.

Unique Technology

The Nitron Europa S NTR-R1 comes from the same race program that produces Nitron’s NTR-R3, and the two share much of the same internal hardware. The NTR-R3 runs in international motorsport. On the Nitron Europa S NTR-R1, the gas charge lives inside the damper body instead of a remote canister. Each unit stays self-contained, and no hoses need routing through the Europa’s tight engine bay and wheel arches. Friction inside the damper is kept very low, so the piston starts working as soon as the wheel starts to move. That quick reaction keeps the longer Europa chassis composed over a crest and lets it land without bobbing while the damper catches up. The same sensitivity takes the sting out of expansion joints and broken patches at low speed. Heat doesn’t wear down the Nitron Europa S NTR-R1’s damping either, so it feels the same at the end of a long mountain run or a hard track session as it did on the first corner.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
