The Lamborghini Gallardo responds well to a properly developed suspension setup, and the Nitron elec-TRON R1 delivers electronic damping control through Nitron’s proportional solenoid valve, managed by the Nitron DCU. The DCU is required for the system to operate; it reads data on the car’s attitude and the forces acting on it, adjusting damping every 5 milliseconds in response to braking, cornering, and acceleration without any manual input from the driver. The hardware traces directly back to the R3 platform, so what you’re getting is proven race-derived componentry packaged into a more accessible, straightforward setup that doesn’t ask much of the driver to get the most out of the Gallardo on road or track. Every kit is custom built, custom sprung, and fully serviceable.

elec-TRON

Nitron’s elec-TRON system starts with a proprietary proportional solenoid valve fitted to each individual shock, giving the DCU precise, independent damping control at every corner. The system monitors g-load, vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver inputs simultaneously, making damping adjustments every 5 milliseconds. For reference, a human eye blink takes somewhere between 100 and 150 milliseconds. That processing speed means the suspension is reacting to what the road and the driver are doing in real time, not catching up after the fact.

Standalone Electronic Damping System

The Nitron DCU is required for the elec-TRON R1 on the Lamborghini Gallardo and is sold separately. It’s the brain behind the elec-TRON system, transforming a conventional passive damper setup into a precision semiactive platform. Working in conjunction with Nitron’s elec-TRON valve, the DCU continuously processes data from the car every 5 milliseconds; assessing vehicle attitude, braking forces, cornering loads, and acceleration inputs to determine the correct valve position and damping level at any given moment. The result is a suspension system that isn’t set to a fixed damping rate but is constantly optimizing grip and comfort in real time based on what the car is actually doing. The DCU is fitted with an adjustable control knob giving the driver access to a range of pre-installed damping maps; Rain, Tour, Sport, and Race; each tuned for a specific driving context. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
