After more than two decades, very few EK9s still run the suspension Honda fitted, and many are now on budget coilovers. Those kits lower the car but take away the precise, communicative feel that made the first Civic Type R special. The Nitron EK9 Type R NTR-R1 coilover kit is the way back from that. More than that, it moves the car well beyond what the factory setup could do. Honda gave the EK9 double wishbones at both ends, which is excellent geometry to start from, and the dampers decide how much of that potential reaches the road. Nitron’s NTR-R1 keeps all four tires in contact with the road over broken surfaces, holds the body steady when you brake hard into a corner, and lets the chassis respond as quickly as the engine does. One adjuster per corner sets bump and rebound together, so you can set the car up for a back road on Saturday and a track day on Sunday. The rear follows the OEM suspension layout, so the Nitron Civic Type R NTR-R1 bolts into the factory mounting points with no changes to the car.

Unique Technology

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
