Do the overfenders bolt on without cutting?

No. Fender modification is required on every car, so the factory rear fenders have to be worked on before the overfenders can be fitted. AP2 cars also need further fitting work beyond that. Plan this as a body shop job rather than a home installation, and add paint to the budget.

How much width do the Type-S Rear Overfenders for AP1 cars add?

The Type-S Rear Overfenders for AP1 and AP2 cars widen the body by 40mm on each side, according to the manufacturer. That is enough width that wheel and tire choices should be planned alongside the fenders, ideally before any cutting or painting begins on the car.

Yes, with extra work. The set is shaped for the early AP1, listed in Japan as the 100, 110 and 120 types, which corresponds to 1999 to 2003 cars. Later cars, including the AP2, need additional fitting work on top of the fender modification every car requires.

Yes. The set includes left and right rear overfenders for one car, so there is no need to order each side separately. The outer surface is black gelcoat ready for paint, and the reverse side has a mesh finish that is not intended to be visible once the fenders are installed.

What does the duct at the back of the fender do?

It is an air bleed duct at the trailing edge of each fender, there to let air escape from the wheel arch. The manufacturer presents the overfenders as a key part for higher cornering speed, though no figures are published for the duct on its own.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Rear Overfenders for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-S Rear Overfenders for AP1 and AP2 S2000s were a long-requested addition to the Type-S range: a rear over fender set that widens each side by 40mm. A duct at the trailing edge of each fender bleeds air out of the arch, and J’s treats the set as a key part for raising cornering speed. The fenders are made specifically for the S2000 and arrive in black gelcoat, ready for paint. Expect real bodywork, since the factory fenders must be modified to fit them. They suit a car being built around wider rear track and tires, not a quick weekend upgrade.

Tips

The set is shaped around the 1999 to 2003 AP1, listed in Japan as the 100, 110 and 120 types. Later cars, including every AP2, need additional fitting work on top of the fender modification all cars require. The back of each panel has a mesh finish, so only the outer surface is finished for paint.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
