Which Subaru Impreza models do the Moton 1-Way Coilovers for GD fit?

MOTON lists the Moton 1-Way Coilovers for GD for the Subaru Impreza WRX / WRX STI (5x114.3; GD / GG, 2005 to 2007). Each 1-Way set is built to order in the Netherlands for that fitment, so confirm the exact model, year and any previous suspension changes with us before ordering.

How does the 1-Way kit compare with the other MOTON kits for the 5x114.3 Impreza?

The 1-Way adjusts rebound only and leaves compression to MOTON valving, which makes it the simplest kit to set up on the 5x114.3 Impreza. The 2-Way Clubsport adds compression adjustment on a remote reservoir. Every MOTON kit for the 5x114.3 Impreza shares threaded ride height, non-inverted monotube construction and springs in the box.

How do I know which hub pattern my Impreza has?

Check the wheel bolt pattern: the later GD STI and the cars MOTON lists here use 5x114.3, while earlier GD cars use 5x100. MOTON builds separate sets for the two, so measure or check the wheel specification before ordering, especially on a car with swapped hubs.

What comes in the box?

Four non-inverted monotube coilovers with springs, each with a single rebound adjuster on the damper body, pillowball front camber plates, built to order for the 5x114.3 Impreza. Wheel spacers, any electronic damper cancellation and the alignment are not included, and the kit ships without spring preload set.

How difficult is installation on the 5x114.3 Impreza?

It is a job for a qualified shop with a lift and a calibrated torque wrench. The kit arrives with no spring preload, so preload is set before the 5x114.3 Impreza is lowered and ride height is measured afterwards. Overtightening the spring platform can deform the damper body, and an alignment should follow.

Description

Moton 1-Way Coilovers for GD / GG Subaru Impreza WRX and STI, 5×114.3

Moton’s 1-Way Coilovers for GD / GG Subaru Impreza WRX and STI, 5×114.3 fit the 5×114.3 GD and GG Impreza with non-inverted monotube dampers that adjust for rebound and ride height and arrive with springs. Subaru moved the GD STI to a 5×114.3 hub pattern from 2005, and MOTON lists this set for the GD and GG WRX and STI on that pattern. Compression is left to MOTON’s fixed valving, so the one choice at the car is how quickly each corner of the 5×114.3 Impreza settles after a bump. For a 5×114.3 Impreza that sees mostly road miles and a few track days a year, it is the right amount of adjustment.

Design and Performance

Rebound sets how quickly each damper extends after compressing, which decides how the 5×114.3 Impreza settles after crests and kerbs. The 1-Way gives one adjuster per corner for exactly that and leaves compression to MOTON’s valving, the right amount of adjustment for a road car with occasional track days. For compression control, step up to the Moton 2-Way Clubsport Coilovers for the 5×114.3 Impreza.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
