Moshammer Fender Louver Slats borrow their logic from Porsche RS models, where the vents cut into the front fenders exist to work rather than to decorate. Hot air gathering around the front brakes escapes through the slats instead of sitting in the wheel arch, which helps keep braking consistent through repeated hard stops, and the channelled airflow contributes to downforce and stability as speed rises. Moshammer builds in Berlin to an OEM+ standard and supplies the part with a TUV parts certificate (§19.3), documentation you almost never see on a detail piece. They can be mounted on the top or the lower section of the existing front fender, so the character of the car is yours to set: overtly RS up high, or quietly technical down low. Delivered unpainted and made to order in small batches, for a 997 that deserves more thought than a badge.

RS Inspired Design

Porsche fits fender vents to its RS variants because the front axle needs them, and that functional honesty is exactly why the detail looks so right on a 997. Moshammer has taken the same idea and made it available to Carrera, GT3 and Turbo owners without RS bodywork, in a slat form that suits the older shape rather than imitating a newer one. The result is race inspired but never fancy dress, which is a harder line to walk than it sounds.

Brake Cooling and Airflow

Heat generated by the front brakes has to go somewhere, and on a standard fender it lingers in the arch where it does nothing useful. The slats give that hot air an exit, which supports consistent brake performance and helps resist fade during sustained hard driving. Channelling the air also works in the aerodynamic favour of the car, contributing to downforce and improving stability as speed builds, which is the same reasoning Porsche applies on its own RS models.

Installation Options

The slats can be mounted on the top of the existing front fender or on the lower section, and the choice changes the personality of the car more than you might expect. High on the fender crown they announce themselves in the RS manner; positioned lower they become a technical detail that only the informed will register. Either way the part arrives unpainted, so the finish can be matched to the body or left as a deliberate contrast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these functional or purely cosmetic? Both, in that order. The slats let hot air escape from the brake area for more consistent braking, and the channelled airflow contributes to downforce and high speed stability, following the same principle as the factory vents on RS models.
Can I mount them low on the fender instead of high? Yes. They are designed for mounting on either the top or the bottom of the existing front fender, and the position you choose sets how obvious the modification looks.
Which 997 models do they suit? All Porsche 997 Carrera, S, 4S, GTS, GT3, Targa, Turbo S, GT2, GT2 RS and Sport Classic models.
Do they arrive painted? No. They are delivered unpainted, so you can match them to the body colour or finish them in a contrast such as satin black.
Does the TUV certificate mean anything in the United States? It is not required for registration here, but a TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is meaningful evidence that the part was properly assessed for road use rather than simply styled and sold.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
