Will the Type-S Under Panel for FD2 fit the factory bumper?

No. The Type-S Under Panel for FD2 cars is a replacement part made only for the Type-S front bumper from the same Osaka tuner, and it cannot be fitted to the factory FD2 bumper. If the car still wears its stock front end, you need the complete Type-S bumper, which already includes an under panel.

Is the bumper included?

No. This listing is the under panel and its dedicated bolt set only. It is intended for owners who already run the Type-S front bumper and need to replace a damaged lower section. The complete bumper, which comes with its own panel, is listed separately for the FD2 Civic Type R.

Will it fit a US-market Civic?

Only if the car is an FD2 Civic Type R already fitted with the Type-S bumper. The panel is made for the Japanese-market FD2 sedan, and the manufacturer notes it may not fit the US-market FG Civic. For any other Civic, check with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering.

Should I choose carbon or FRP?

Pick the material that matches your bumper or your budget. The carbon panel is made of carbon FRP. The FRP panel is black gelcoat, which suits a black lower lip or can be painted. Both use the same dedicated bolt set and wing-shaped profile.

How do I stop the panel from breaking again?

The manufacturer explains that the wing section carries a lot of downforce, so impacts with the road surface can crack it or tear it away at speed. For high-speed and circuit use it asks owners to reinforce and secure the panel themselves. Avoid riding high curbs and check the bolts often.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Under Panel for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Type-S Under Panel for FD2 Civic Type R owners is the replacement lower section for the Osaka tuner’s Type-S front bumper. On that bumper the under panel is the wing-shaped piece that generates front downforce, and it is also the part most likely to meet a curb, a track-day off or a lost piece of debris. When only the panel is damaged, this lets you swap it rather than replace the whole bumper. It comes in carbon or black gelcoat FRP with its own bolt set. It is strictly a spare for cars already running the Type-S bumper; it will not mount to the factory FD2 bumper.

Tips

Keep a spare on the shelf if the car is driven hard at the circuit. J’s Racing warns that the front wing section carries large downforce and can crack or tear away after hitting the road at speed, and asks owners of high-speed cars to add their own reinforcement and fixing. Check the bolts after any heavy contact.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
