Is the intake duct included with the Tsuchinoko Chamber for EK9 cars?

No. The Tsuchinoko Chamber for EK9 cars is sold on its own. The manufacturer states that pairing the chamber with its intake duct is what brings out full performance, so plan to buy the duct separately if you want the complete system. Contact us and we will confirm the matching duct part number before you order.

How much power does the chamber add?

The manufacturer quotes up to about 10 PS, along with improved torque, with gains spread from low and mid engine speeds to high rpm. No test vehicle, conditions or dyno chart are published with that figure, so treat it as the upper end of what the Osaka tuner reports rather than a guaranteed result on every engine.

Should I choose the carbon or the FRP version?

Both share the same chamber shape and the same quoted performance. The carbon version, part number TCC-H5, is the dearer option and shows a carbon finish in the engine bay. The FRP version, part number TCB-H5, costs less. Choose on appearance and budget, because the source lists no functional difference between the two materials.

Can I use this chamber on a US-spec EK Civic?

No, the manufacturer has not confirmed it. The chamber is developed for the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R and its B16B engine, which is the only application listed. If your car is a US model or has had an engine swap, contact us first so the intake layout can be compared before you buy.

What else comes with the chamber?

The source does not say. Neither the Japanese nor the North American listing describes a filter, mounting hardware or the other components of the Tsuchinoko intake system. Assume the price covers the chamber itself, and ask us to confirm the exact contents with the US distributor before you order if a complete kit matters.

Description

J’s Racing Tsuchinoko Chamber for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Tsuchinoko Chamber for EK9 Civic Type R builds is one of the Osaka tuner’s signature intake parts, named for the distinctive shape of the chamber itself. J’s Racing still rates that shape as the best performer among its intake upgrades, quoting a gain of up to about 10 PS together with better torque, with the effect spread from low and mid engine speeds through to high rpm. The chamber is offered in carbon or in FRP for the B16B, and J’s Racing says it needs the matching intake duct to reach full performance. It suits an owner chasing response from a naturally aspirated EK9 who is happy to buy that duct as well; anyone wanting a sealed, filter-in-a-box solution should look elsewhere.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
