Does the Tsuchinoko Chamber for Early GD1 cars fit with HID headlights?

No. The Tsuchinoko Chamber for Early GD1, GD2 and GD3 CVT cars cannot be installed on a Fit equipped with HID headlights, and the manufacturer makes no exception for it. Check your headlight type before ordering, since this restriction applies to both the carbon and the FRP option.

J’s Racing’s Tsuchinoko Chamber for Early GD1, GD2 and GD3 Fits with the CVT is the version of the Osaka tuner’s bumper-fed intake built for first-series cars, the ones carrying the LA- model prefix in Japan, with either the 1.3 or the 1.5-liter engine. The chamber occupies the free space in the engine bay and routes intake air from a filter mounted inside the front bumper, so the engine draws fresh outside air through the factory bumper opening. It is a good fit for an early CVT Fit owner who wants sharper response; cars with HID headlights cannot take it.

Design and Performance

Mounting the filter in the bumper turns the cavity behind it into a large air box, and a purpose-shaped partition stops rain from hitting the element directly. J’s Racing confirmed this in road tests during heavy rainfall. Its Dynapack comparison on a stock-engine Fit, run against the standard intake and an aftermarket cleaner, is where it claims a marked rise in torque.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
