What else do I need to buy with it?

One Type B reinforced muffler bush is required and is sold separately, so add it to the order. The manufacturer does not list other hardware with the system, so ask Bulletproof Automotive to confirm gaskets and fasteners for your car before installation day, especially if the existing parts are old or corroded.

Will the FX-PRO 70RS Exhaust for FD2 fit a US-market Civic?

The FX-PRO 70RS Exhaust for FD2 cars is built for the Japanese-market FD2 Civic Type R sedan, and the manufacturer says it may not fit the US-market FG Civic. An imported FD2 Type R is exactly what it was built for, and other Civic models should be checked with Bulletproof Automotive first.

Is the 70RS quiet enough for tracks with noise limits?

That is what it was designed for. A dedicated silencer in the center pipe makes it quieter than the RR series while keeping the 70mm main pipe. Actual readings depend on the car and on how each circuit measures, so check the limit at your track and test before the session.

How does it differ from the 70RR?

Both use a 70mm main pipe and full titanium construction. The 70RS adds a silencer in the center pipe for lower volume and weighs 6.4kg, while the 70RR omits it, weighs 5.6kg and is tuned purely for power. Choose the RS if your circuits enforce sound limits.

How much lighter is it than the stock exhaust?

The manufacturer states a weight reduction of more than 50 percent compared with the stock muffler, using 1mm titanium pipe throughout, and the system weighs 6.4kg. The North American distributor notes that the saving varies by model, so use the percentage as a guide rather than a measured FD2 figure.

Description

J’s Racing FX-PRO 70RS Exhaust for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s FX-PRO 70RS Exhaust for FD2 owners answers a problem many track drivers now face: circuits with tighter noise limits. The Osaka tuner gave it the same 70mm main pipe it uses to free up the K20A at high rpm, then added a dedicated silencer in the center pipe so the system is quieter than its RR series. J’s Racing North America says the power feel stays on par with the RR. Built from 1mm titanium and weighing 6.4kg, it suits an FD2 Civic Type R that runs track days at venues with sound checks, where the 60RS would leave power on the table.

Construction

The pipework is formed from 1mm titanium on a three-dimensional bender, which keeps every bend smooth and the exhaust resistance very low. Behind the center silencer, the enlarged main silencer keeps the straight-through core that defines the FX-PRO line, and the cut dolphin tail is colored by hand, so its shade will vary a little from car to car.

Features

70mm main pipe for top-end power from the K20A
Silencer built into the center pipe to meet circuit noise limits
Quieter than the RR series, by J’s Racing’s comparison
Full titanium in 1mm-wall tube, 6.4kg in total
Large straight-through main silencer
Hand-colored cut dolphin tail

Applications

Honda Civic Type R: FD2 | 2007-2010 | 2.0L K20A

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
