How much wider are the Front Wide Fenders for EK9 cars?

The Front Wide Fenders for EK9 cars add about 15mm on each side, which is roughly 30mm across the front of the car. That extra room is meant for a wider front track or wider tires. Measure your wheel and tire offset before ordering so the extra width covers the setup you plan to run.

Do they work with the stock front bumper?

Yes. The manufacturer designed the fenders around the stock bumper and kept the factory body line, so the car still looks like an EK9 from most angles. Fitting is still done to the individual car, so expect test fitting and some adjustment before the panels are painted.

What does the fender duct do?

The duct at the rear of each fender pulls turbulent air out of the wheel well. The manufacturer says this helps reduce drag, and the same idea is used on high-end imported sports cars. It also gives the front of the car a sportier look, which suits both circuit builds and show cars.

How do I choose the early or late version?

Go by the frame number on your car. Frame numbers 1000001 to 1100000, covering production through August 1998, take the early fenders, while 1100001 to 1299999, built from September 1998 onward, take the late pair. Send us your frame number if you would like a second check.

Do these fenders suit a US-spec EK Civic?

No, not as a listed application. They are produced for early and late Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R cars only, identified by frame number. Front panels on other EK variants have not been confirmed by the manufacturer, so compare your car closely and talk to us before ordering if it did not start life as an EK9.

Description

J’s Racing Front Wide Fenders for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Front Wide Fenders for EK9 Civic Type R owners add about 15mm of width on each side, the room needed for a wider track or wider front tires, without breaking the factory body line. The FRP fenders work with the stock front bumper, and a duct at the back of each fender pulls turbulent air out of the wheel well, which J’s Racing says reduces drag. Fender vents like this also appear on expensive imported sports cars, and they give the EK9 a purposeful look. They suit an owner fitting wider wheels or tires; on a stock-width setup they are mostly cosmetic.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
