Does the 3D GT Wing for EK9 cars need drilling to install?

Yes. The 3D GT Wing for EK9 cars requires holes to be drilled for mounting, so plan for permanent modification and ideally a professional install. The source does not describe the stays or hardware supplied, so ask us to confirm the full contents with the US distributor before your installer starts work.

How wide is the wing and what is it made of?

The wing is 1350mm wide and made from wet carbon, with a single flap. The manufacturer shapes the top surface like a banana so that it gains wing area without growing wider overall, which keeps the overall span compact on a small hatchback like the Civic.

Can the wing be adjusted?

Yes. It has a four-step adjustment range, which the Osaka tuner says lets it perform on low-speed circuits, high-speed circuits and the street. The manufacturer does not publish the angle covered by each step, so expect to test and choose a setting that suits your track and the balance of the car.

Does the carbon need protecting from sunlight?

Yes, for a car kept outdoors or a wing you plan to run for years. The manufacturer recommends a UV-cut clear coat to protect the carbon from sun fading. That coating is not included, so have a paint shop apply it before installation if your car lives outside.

Can this wing go on a US-market Civic?

No, not without checking first. The only application the Osaka tuner gives is the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R. Since the mounting process involves drilling, confirm that your rear body panels match before a single hole is made, and get in touch with us if there is any doubt about your car.

Description

J’s Racing 3D GT Wing for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s 3D GT Wing for EK9 Civic Type R builds brings the three-dimensional wing shape that has become standard in GT racing, tuned cars and time attack to the B16B hatchback. This version is wet carbon, 1350mm wide, with a single flap. To find more wing area without a wider span, J’s Racing curves the top surface into a banana shape, and the complex three-dimensional section catches the airflow coming off the roof to cut drag. The result, the company says, is efficient downforce and faster cornering through high-speed bends. It belongs on an EK9 that sees circuit time; for a street car it is mainly a statement.

Features

Honda Civic Type R: EK9 | 1997-2000 | 1.6L B16B

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
