Can the Front Upper Arms for EK9 cars add positive camber?

No. The Front Upper Arms for EK9 cars adjust in the negative direction only. Adjustment is stepless, so you can choose an exact negative camber setting rather than fixed steps, but the arms are not intended to add positive camber. The manufacturer does not publish the maximum range.

Why run more negative camber?

When the car leans in a corner, the outside front tire tilts with the body. Extra negative camber keeps more of that tire on the road, and the manufacturer says it increases cornering grip and allows more detailed setup for sports driving.

Will they work on a lowered car?

Yes. The manufacturer states that the arms are now compatible with cars set at a lower ride height, which is where front camber correction is most often needed. Have the car aligned after installation and check the tires periodically to make sure the setting suits your use.

Yes. Both sides of one car are covered, with a left and a right front negative upper arm in the box. Both arms use pillow ball joints, which the North American listing credits with more direct handling, and they ship together from Japan.

Will these upper arms bolt onto a US-market EK Civic?

No, that application is not listed. The arms are intended for the Japanese-market EK9 Civic Type R with the B16B, and fit on other EK models has not been confirmed. Ask us to check your car, its ride height and its front suspension before ordering.

Description

J’s Racing Front Upper Arms for EK9 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Front Upper Arms for EK9 Civic Type R chassis are the Front Negative Upper Arm, built to let the front camber angle be adjusted. Dialing in negative camber increases grip through corners and allows the fine setup changes that sports driving demands. Adjustment is stepless and runs in the negative direction only. The arms use pillow ball joints for more direct handling, and the latest version is compatible with lowered cars. For an EK9 that has been lowered and is driven on track or autocross, this is the standard way to recover front grip; on a stock-height road car the benefit is small.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
