HKS’s HIPERMAX S Coilover Kit in this 2025 specification was the first FL5 Civic Type R application to pair the HIPERMAX S damper with a front pillow ball upper mount, and it set the pattern HKS still builds to. The spherical bearing removes the deflection a rubber mount allows, sharpening steering response, and it opens up camber adjustment so a wider tyre and more negative camber can be used to reduce understeer rather than fought. Dual PVS valving, a Wide Range Needle and an Advanced Bump Rubber underpinned what HKS described as the best ride quality in the history of its suspension, and a Suspension Error Canceller was supplied in the box.

Design and Performance

Thirty steps of damping at each corner, a spherical-bearing front upper mount with camber adjustment, and helper springs to keep the car settled over poor surfaces. Dual PVS valving separates low-speed from high-speed damping behaviour, the Wide Range Needle keeps the extremes of the adjustment range usable rather than academic, and the Advanced Bump Rubber manages the end of the stroke instead of letting the car crash into it. HKS aimed this HIPERMAX S Coilover Kit at owners who wanted a Type R that stayed flexible and comfortable while still rewarding a hard drive.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
