The JCR Inconel Downpipe for the 992.2 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, Carrera 4 GTS, and Targa 4 GTS is a direct replacement for the OEM downpipe, designed to significantly reduce weight and deliver substantial gains in power and torque. Crafted from 100% Inconel 625, it is a high-performance, future-proofed component. The product is available in two options — as a Race Silenced version, which utilizes a high-flow HJS 200-cell core to replace the factory components, or as a Non-Silenced version, for maximum performance and sound. Both versions offer improved throttle response, transient boost response, and are designed using 3D printing technology for optimal gas flow. The Silenced version saves over 6kg, while the Non-Silenced version saves over 7kg.

Version

• Race Silenced: The JCR Race Silenced section utilizes a single, high-flow HJS 200-cell core race silencer. As a result, flow is greatly increased, and improved performance follows. For cars without OPF monitoring, JCR’s race silencers in most cases will not cause any CEL and do not require any tuning. In certain instances, it’s still possible for a CEL to occur. This tends to happen if the car has poor fuel quality in the tank or excess load is applied when the engine and exhaust system are not up to full operating temperature.
• Non-Silenced: With the JCR Non-Silenced section, the factory restrictive assembly is removed for maximum performance and sound. Rather than simply removing the silencer from their race silenced products, JCR created an entirely new profile to correctly control the gasses from the turbo flange down to the main flow path to optimize performance.

Light Weight

• Through the use of lightweight materials and clever design, JCR has managed to significantly reduce the overall weight of the factory 992.2 Carrera GTS exhaust components. While removing weight offers great benefits in any performance vehicle, the gains are amplified on this platform, as reducing the rear-biased weight distribution helps to improve overall balance and handling. With only their Race Silenced version installed, JCR saves a total of 6.18kg (13.62lbs) from the weight of the vehicle, which represents a significant 49.83% reduction. With only their Non-Silenced version installed, JCR saves a total of 7.71kg (16.99lbs) from the weight of the vehicle, which represents a significant 62.2% reduction.

Direct Replacement

• All of the JCR 992.2 Carrera GTS exhaust components are a direct replacement for their OEM equivalents, with a guaranteed perfect fit every time. No further work is required during installation beyond removing the OEM part and replacing it with its JCR equivalent and any supplied hardware.

3D Printed Components

• 3D printing or DMLS / SLM / DMP as it is referred to, is a technology that allows complex shapes that would have usually been reserved for casting or multi-axis machining to be created as one-off parts without large investments in tooling. This technology is particularly helpful in applications where the required geometry of a part might be outside the normal scope of other available manufacturing techniques. While this isn’t the first use of 3D Printed parts in JCR exhaust systems, their new 992.2 GTS Downpipes certainly feature this production method more extensively to ensure the best possible flow characteristics and performance.

Power Increase

• Every component of the JCR 992.2 GTS Exhaust line is guaranteed to improve horsepower and torque, with varying results dependent on the combination of parts. Porsche quotes factory HP and TQ numbers at 533.6hp and 570Nm. JCR found the stock car to be making close to the quoted hp numbers but significantly more torque. Stock figures as tested on the day were 543hp and 636.1Nm. With their Race Silenced version installed, the car made a total of 580hp and 667.9Nm, which represents a 37hp and 31.8Nm gain versus OEM. The peak number delta only tells part of the story. With their Non-Silenced version installed, the car made a total of 585hp and 676.2Nm, which represents a 42hp and 40.1Nm gain versus OEM.
