Endless MONO6 Sports Front Performance Brake System with 320mm Rotors for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII / VIII / IX

Endless’s Front Performance Brake System for the Lancer Evolution VII, VIII and IX is the MONO6 Sports TA caliper paired with 320mm x 32mm Endless curving slit rotors. At 320mm this is the first sized step above the factory disc, and the easiest of these kits to package inside a 17-inch wheel. The caliper is the same either way: 2,660g, 12 percent stiffer than the design it replaced, with the fluid path carried inside the body instead of through an outer pipe that can break. What the rotor diameter changes is how much heat the front end can take before the pads start working outside their range.

Forged Monobloc Caliper

Endless forges the MONO6 Sports TA body as a single monobloc under several thousand tons of pressure and finishes it in ultra-hard anodised aluminium, in the standard Blue Alumite. Against the caliper it replaced, rigidity is up 12 percent and the stress balance through the body has been reworked, while the caliper weighs 2,660g. The outer pipe that used to carry the brake fluid across the caliper has been eliminated, which removes the failure that lets fluid escape when such a pipe breaks. The caliper surface is 3D cut, which helps it shed heat. Endless took four years from conception to the finished body and ran a further year of test racing after the first prototype, revising the specification as it went.

Curving Slit Rotors

The kit ships on Endless curving slit steel rotors. Endless heat treats them before they leave the factory to stabilise the components of the rotor itself, which significantly reduces the fine heat cracking that otherwise forms as the surface expands and contracts under prolonged hard driving, and applies its Blue heat-resistant coating over the top. Endless builds these in steel rather than a more exotic material on purpose: many drivers and racing teams prefer the feel and characteristics of the steel rotor, and keeping the cost down matters on a part that wears out.

About Endless

Endless was founded in 1986, when Isao Hanazato began developing brake pads out of his own racing experience, and the company builds its friction material, rotors, calipers and brake fluid in Saku City, Nagano. It has run its own team since 1991, in the All Japan F3 Championship and the Mirage Cup, and by 2017 had supplied brake fluid to Formula 1 for fifteen consecutive years.
